March Madness

Wow! It's been a long time since the last post...this semester has really gotten away from me! But a LOT has happened!

JANUARY
The Broncos lost the Super Bowl (lame) but baby was perfect at our checkup (wicked awesome!) Can't complain about that!

FEBRUARY
Valentine's Day rolled around. I came home from work to a handsome hubby and this beautiful necklace.
Then, he surprised me with a couples date night with our best friends Courtney and Andy! So amazing. We had so much fun with them.

Best! Love her!

On to MARCH!
March has been busy. My good friend Trish made this adorable quilt for Nugget in honor of our amazing Summer at Georgetown. In other awesome news, navy and grey were our colors for the nursery. It's fate. It must be.

Then it was time to get down to business. With the help of my fantastic parents, we got the crib set up (and it only took half a day! Well maybe a little less... but it seemed like forever). We only had a few minor setbacks, but each of those led to some pretty good laughs, so I am going to chalk that up to a win. Here's the final product. I LOVE IT.
I can't believe Bubba will be in there soon!

Next, we moved on to a chair. Nate's parents helped us with the chair. Here's the fabric. I can't wait to see what it will look like. :)

Next, it was off to DC. Katie and I took 8 awesome history/political nerds to Washington DC for 4 days. Our "Nerd Mecca" was amazing! We had awesome weather and saw so much of the fantastic things DC has to offer. We walked and walked and walked. But my feet didn't swell = W.I.N.

In the words of Forrest Gump, "I'm glad we're here together in our nation's capital.."

Our kids had an amazing talk with Representative Perlmutter about education. I LOVE seeing engaged citizens. #nerdlife

Our Supreme Court tour was WICKED! It was however, 13 degrees outside with hurricane style winds. But who cares!

March also gave us some pictures of Nugget. I know these freak some people out, but whatever. This face!

That nose!
I can't wait to meet him. I can't wait to meet him.

A Happy New Year. A Happy New Us.

We spent our new year painting little one's nursery! I struggle with making decisions, so selecting paint was a painstaking mission. Luckily my husband is the type to commit, with no questions. So, we committed. And I couldn't be happier!

We chose Behr paint in Igloo (top color) and Manhattan Mist (middle color). I knew I wanted a striped wall in nugget's wall and we decided on grey and navy before we knew the sex. The colors seemed neutral and calming and I felt like these colors could grow with our baby. With a little help from our moms, we put our painting pants on and went to work.

Bye, bye beige!

Somehow, I think Nate wasn't really this happy to be painting...

The "Igloo" color was a little scary at first... I was worried it was too white, too sterile, too hospitally. But once we got all four walls painted, we tackled the stripes. It helps having a husband who is 6'7, taping the ceiling was a snap!

I love the finished product!
